Book Review: Easy by Tammara Webber

Let me start this review by publicly clarifying that I am in no way a crazed book fan who creates pseudo realities in my head where I live my life vicariously through the eyes of the book heroine. I love my husband and my little boy, and I wouldn't trade my life for all the tea in China. That being said...
I would also like to declare my undying love for Lucas Maxfield, and I don't care who knows it!
LOL, ok I'm done...back to the review.
Ok, so the blurb for this book is a little vague.
"He watched her, but never knew her. Until thanks to a chance encounter, he became her savior…

The attraction between them was undeniable. Yet the past he’d worked so hard to overcome, and the future she’d put so much faith in, threatened to tear them apart.

Only together could they fight the pain and guilt, face the truth—and find the unexpected power of love.

A groundbreaking novel in the New Adult genre, Easy faces one girl's struggle to regain the trust she's lost, find the inner strength to fight back against an attacker, and accept the peace she finds in the arms of a secretive boy."
When I first read the blurb I thought "Hmmm, intriguing, maybe I'll check it out sometime".
Well after reading other Easy reviews, chats, and discussion boards, I was typing my card number on Amazon twenty minutes later.
Yes, I proudly admit I am a book whore!
I certainly wasn't disappointed though. Honestly explaining the story beyond the vague blurb would definitely be a "spoiler" factor. As much as hate a vague book review, I can't spoil the Easy experience for you either. Trust me, it's worth the ride!

I'll explain it like this...
Girl is in college. Boy meets girl in an awkward, embarrassing, and even terrifying situation. Boy saves girl. Girl never noticed boy before, but DEFINITELY notices boy now. Boy DEFINITELY noticed girl before, and still notices girl.

Somewhere in the mix there's violence, an identity mystery, an inappropriate tutor/student relationship, HOT steamy lovin', charcoal body sketching, and a lip ring!

*Taking a minute to fan my face*

Lucas Maxfield (The guy in this scintillating book) will make you wish you were pinned down to the floor in a restraint position...and yes, it's a good thing (and also in the book).

Hope you like it as much as I did!

Book Review: The Guardian by Nicholas Sparks

This was my first Sparks book, and I was a little apprehensive about it at first. My friend, Jessica, recommended it for me to read, and despite my husband's eye rolling at the thought of his wife reading another sap-tastic love novel I gave it a try. Don't get me wrong, I LOVE a good mushy girly book, but I was so not in the mood for one at the time. This was the PERFECT book for my mood. I wanted something with an element of love, but a little scope of danger. Maybe a bad boy or maybe just a bad situation. What I got from The Guardian was way more than I expected, and I couldn't put it down!

Basically the main character, Julie is heartbroken after the tragic death of her husband. Even though she is still in her early twenties, she is now widowed and alone...well not completely alone. She has an adorably intelligent Great Dane named Singer. He and her small town friends are practically all she has as far as family goes, and it takes her a good four years after her husband's passing to consider dating again. When she finally does...well that's when the wild ride begins.

There's Mike Harris. The cute down to earth mechanic who Julie grew to love as her late husband's best friend. And then there's Richard Franklin; a suave engineer with rugged good looks who seems to adore her.

Sweet! A saucy love triangle book, right? WRONG!!!! More like a suspenseful thriller with lies, jealousy, and even MURDER!
*Yes, that deserved all caps*

Overall, this book had my heart racing so fast I literally blew out a sigh of relief when I finished it.

Now that's the sign of a great read.
